Project Details
As a student assistant, I have had the privilege of working on a variety of project fronts. This has allowed me to work with different VR technologies and, together with my supervisor, develop an interface between Boston Dynamics and VR. Additionally I had the opportunity to experiment with various hand-tracking and pose options, as well as create virtual environments that serve the maritime sector.

DIOR IT
Robotics and VR/AR Technologies for Monitoring and Maintenance at CML Fraunhofer
" Alongside my academic pursuits, I was privileged to collaborate with two esteemed colleagues from Fraunhofer CML on an exciting project involving Boston Dynamics' Spot. This experience has significantly deepened my passion for robotics"
DIOR-IT Overview: DIOR-IT employs cutting-edge robotics and immersive VR/AR technologies to enhance the monitoring and maintenance capabilities in environments where human inspection and maintenance are challenging due to safety concerns or accessibility issues.
Problem Identification: The project addresses the difficulties in safely and efficiently inspecting and maintaining areas that are hazardous or hard to access, such as remote or high-risk zones.
Solution Approach: DIOR-IT integrates mobile robots equipped with immersive technology to reduce the time and increase the efficiency of employee deployments in critical areas. The robots autonomously navigate to target areas, perform inspections, and facilitate remote operations by employees when necessary. This includes automatic damage detection, setting virtual markers, capturing measurements, precise location assessment, and planning repairs.
